Maine RTP Grant

The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) is an assistance program of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The RTP provides funds to the States to develop and maintain recreational trails and trail-related facilities for motorized and nonmotorized recreational trail uses. 

Eligible projects may include:

Polaris T.R.A.I.L.S Grant

Get up to $10,000 from Polaris for trail improvement or equipment to maintain your trail system.  Learn more by clicking the link below. 

Yamaha Grant

Secure additional funding for your club by applying for the Yamaha grant.  This funding can be used for your municipal grant match as well!  Click the link below for more info.

Maine Land Protection Grant

Unlock up to $50,000 of funding for land easments for trails or even land purchase.  Aplication opens June 21 and the deadline is September 15.  Click the link below to their website.

Tread Lightly

By joining tread lightly, you will have access to a $500 grant for trail improvements including materials and equipment rental.  Click the link below to get to their website.

USDA Rural Development

There are 2 grants available from the USDA and the applications for these grants are due by February 28, 2024.  These grants specifically focus on rural development of trails and business.   These grants allows you to purchase equipment and complete large scale projects.  The information and application can be found by clicking below.
